Mammal Exclusion
Rats and mice are a common pests in the Pacific Northwest, especially in forested areas and near water sources. We provide exclusion work to make sure rodents and other mammals can't gain entry to your home. We have successfully excluded rodents as small as a field mouse, and as large as skunks from entering crawl spaces.
How It Works
Rats and mice are always a concern when they are entering your home. They are capable of causing tremendous damage to the electrical and plumbing systems within a home, such that house fires and flooding can result. Additionally, they are vectors (spreaders) of disease such as Hantavirus, leptospirosis, salmonella, and other serious illnesses. Because of the way that homes are designed, if a rodent can gain access to the crawl space, they will have access to the wall voids and even the attic. They will even find ways to access the living space of your home if they are given the opportunity.

Trapping and poison baiting rodents can be quite successful on its own, but it lasting control may require exclusion from all parts of your home. Exclusion essentially entails some combination of special screening material, pea gravel and steel wool. Rats and mice have the ability to compress their ribs to fit into tiny spaces, even as small as a quarter or dime, respectively. A well trained professional will be able to identify these small openings around a house, which can be anywhere; the crawl space access door, between the siding and foundation, crawl space vents, louvre vents, plumbing junctions etc.
