As they grow, they shed their exoskeleton, which can cause respiratory illnesses, especially when they are present in large numbers. This is why it is so important to have them removed quickly.

Bed bugs can grow in population without being noticed for some time. Their bites do not always cause a skin reaction, and the reaction can be delayed by several days, or even weeks. They are very good at hiding, and will usually require a professional to locate and identify them accurately.
